Messages of Thanks

In the last few weeks, I have received some poignant messages of thanks for creating and sharing my art journal as the book, The Hospice Doctor’s Widow: A Journal. One message is from a woman who is caregiving for her partner:

  • “I am reading this book with such gratitude. Inspired by the book, I wrote J. a card. It brought him to tears.  . . .  Jen is so honest. There are times I also want to leave. Be free of it. But, of course I don’t.  . . . On page 25 she talks about Bob saying loving kindness has kept him alive. The book tells me what I sometimes keep covered during days of practicality and making sure all is taken care of. That I still need to listen to our hearts.”

Another message reads:

  • “What an important book. Thoughtful, honest and helpful! I really liked the idea of “Precious Time”… reminded me of the time we had with my dad before he died.”

So, it is especially exciting for me to share with you that I will be doing a virtual program with the Six Bridges Book Festival this Saturday, October 17th at 9:30aPSTI will show you how I do the art and do a few readings. I will be interviewed by Susan Santa Cruz, MD, a wonderful, retired hospice doctor, who knew my beloved Bob, and we will be able to take questions from those who attend. I cannot wait to talk with you about the art journaling and story that became The Hospice Doctor’s Widow: A Journal
