A Better Way to Support Family Caregivers

Hope your 2024 is off to the start you need. I know mine is.

One of my pet peeves in caregiving is when someone who has little or no experience with it says or implies, "There's got to be a better way." Please don't say this to your family caregiver friends. Instead, offer help, don't judge, and just be there for them.

Still, there are lots of wondrous inventions and positive changes that got their start with, "There's got to be a better way." One of those is a service that helps family caregivers, grievers, trauma sufferers, and so many more.

You can find it at SupportNow.org, and I hope you will check it out. Support Now puts: 1) the communication capabilities of Caring Bridge, 2) the helpful task assignment and coordination of Lotsa Helping Hands or Circle Of, 3) the meal provision of Meal Train, and 4) the fundraising function of GoFundMe — all on one website for free to users. Also, when fund contributors simply round up, there is no fee or cost. The recipients get the entire financial contribution. Sometimes, you want to make a financial contribution and sign up for a meal or task help. Support Now allows you to do both and more from the same website.

Indeed, this is an example where the husband-and-wife founders, Scott & Jordan Arogeti, thought to themselves, "There's got to be a better way," and created it.

I am sharing my recent discovery of Support Now because I think it is an outstanding resource for doulas and other professionals to share with their clients or patients, AND it is a resource for those of us who just want to be a good friend to someone who needs some extra help.
